Barco ups projector sales forecast on Avatar effect






Visual systems company Barco raised its outlook for 2010 digital projector sales on Wednesday on the popularity of 3D films such as Avatar and said it expected to perform “significantly” better than in 2008.

The company, whose displays are also used as scoreboards for sports stadiums, medical imaging systems, flight simulators and at pop concerts, said first-quarter sales rose 22 percent year-on-year to 176 million euros ($236.8 million)
