James Cameron Tells D8 How He Made Avatar in 3D
He said you could get a good experience with Avatar in 2D, and said 90% of what he did on the film had nothing to do with 3D – from writing the story to hiring the actors. He said 3D was an additional experience, so when it was available in 3D in theaters people wanted to see it in that format, but when it came out in 2D DVD and Blu-Ray, it became the highest grossing disc.
