Nvidia vs ATI: 3D Entertainment at Home
To compete with that ATI has brought support to their Radeon HD graphics cards with new Catalyst 10.3 drivers. This update will allow using hardware and software from third party middleware vendors for the stereoscopic 3D experience. Though enabling stereoscopic 3D on an ATI graphics based system in possible, the option isn’t flexible enough.
Here are a set of choices one has to make to get stereoscopic 3D experience using the PC. Either go for an entire Nvidia Solution (Graphics card+3D Vision/Vision Discover) at one go, or else, users can opt for ATI graphics card and then choose third-party vendor solution. The choice still will remain in your hand.
The beauty of these solutions is that several existing and upcoming games would support stereoscopic 3D enabling with merely software. However, that would depend on which solution you choose. You can surely enjoy burning rubber on asphalt roads 3D style. Even the gaming consoles would support Stereoscopic 3D gaming as the recent developments on the PlayStation 3 indicate.
Besides that we’ll have 3D Blu-ray movies – movies shot in high-definition 3D formats and even 3D channels broadcasting content. Imagine the experience of watching Superbowl in 3D from your couch.
