RealD 3D glasses get the nod from TV manufacturers






With 3D TV set to make a big impact in 2010, it looks like those special glasses you need will be compatible across a range of 3D displays, if they’re from RealD that is.

Both Sony and JVC have recently announced that they will be endorsing RealD glasses for use with their range of 3D enabled TVs.

With Sony not insisting on any form of exclusivity deal with RealD, other manufacturers have been free to adopt their glasses as the default viewing mechanism. Good news for the consumer, JVC quickly announced that their range of 3D enabled TV’s would adopt RealD glasses technology; other manufacturers will hopefully follow suit.

3D TV is set for take of in 2010 with the likes of Sky launching a dedicated 3D channel in the UK and large manufacturers such as Sony and Panasonic investing heavily in the new format.
