The Lionsgate publicity site has revealed the cast list and plot synopsis for Saw VII3D, due out October 22. The cast contains one surprising return: Cary Elwes as Dr. Gordon.

Elwes sued his own management firm, which produced Saw, for unjust enrichment and alleged breach of contract. Since appearing as the doctor who diagnosed Jigsaw with cancer, and having to amputate his own leg to escape one of Jigsaw’s death traps, Gordon’s return to the franchise has been rumoured several times, and his fate has been debated heavily by fans.
