Sony PS3 games console gets 3D capability with firmware update






There are two firmware updates that will convert the PS3 into a stereoscopic 3D capable games platform and also add support for 3D Blu-ray.

We know that Sony are placing some big bets on the success of 3D, having invested heavily in the display technology; as part of their overall strategy they are also anxious to capitalize on the potential of their PS3 games console, not only as a 3D gaming platform but also to play 3D Blu-ray films.

The two 3D firmware updates will become available via the Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) this June.
